NFL: T.J. Watt overtakes brother J.J. Watt in sacks

T.J. Watt now has more sacks than his older brother J.J. Watt. The historic sack was also of great sporting significance.

In his Pittsburgh Steelers’ game against the Chicago Bears, the linebacker managed a strip sack in the opponent’s end zone, which led directly to a touchdown for the Steelers.

This was a sack with family significance: it was T.J. Watt’s 115th sack, surpassing his brother J.J. Watt (114.5 sacks) in the NFL record books.

T.J. Watt overtakes J.J. Watt: younger brother with more sacks

J.J. Watt was considered one of the best defenders in NFL history and was named Defensive Player of the Year three times during his career.

After ten years with the Houston Texans, he played two more years for the Arizona Cardinals before retiring in 2022.

His younger brother, T.J. Watt, was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2017 and has also established himself as an outstanding pass rusher.

In 2021, T.J. Watt set the NFL season record with 22.5 sacks and was named the league’s best defensive player.
