NFL: “Selfish and egocentric” – Cowboys teammates apparently didn’t like Micah Parsons

Following Micah Parsons’ trade from the Dallas Cowboys to the Green Bay Packers, a report casts an unflattering light on the pass rusher.

It was only a few days ago that the Dallas Cowboys traded defensive superstar Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. Now, a report by Sports Illustrated paints a less than positive picture of the pass rusher.

According to the report, some teammates considered the 26-year-old to be “selfish and egocentric” and also thought little of his podcast “The Edge with Micah Parsons.”

According to the report, there was a big difference in the negotiation process between Parsons and the Cowboys compared to previous negotiations with players such as Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Zack Martin.

“Martin, Lamb, and Prescott are or were very popular in the locker room,” writes reporter Albert Breer: “That’s not the case with Parsons. He has upset his teammates in various ways and is considered by some to be selfish and self-centered. His podcast has also caused problems that reach all the way up to quarterback Dak Prescott.”

Prescott hoped Parsons would stay

Just last Monday, after practice, the playmaker was confident that owner Jerry Jones would reach an agreement with Parsons before the season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles. He referred to his own negotiations during last year’s preseason.

“I’m confident he’ll be on the field in week one. I’m just speaking from experience here. I just hope — and I know he is — that he’s ready to play,” the quarterback said.

In the end, Prescott’s hopes were not fulfilled. Parsons signed a four-year, $188 million contract with the Packers, the largest contract for a non-quarterback in NFL history.
