NFL: San Francisco 49ers likely demanded mega package for Brandon Aiyuk

Brandon Aiyuk, wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers, is considered a trade candidate. The Jacksonville Jaguars were rumored to be interested, but the price is said to have deterred them

Last season, Brandon Aiyuk developed into one of the NFL’s top receivers.

His regular-season stats of 1,342 receiving yards, an average of 83.9 receiving yards per game and a catch rate of 71.4 percent were all personal bests.

Nevertheless, the 26-year-old, who as of today will play for the 49ers in the 2024 season under the fifth-year option, is considered a trade candidate. His girlfriend fueled the trade rumors shortly after the Super Bowl loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

A few days ago, a report made the rounds that the Jacksonville Jaguars were interested in the 49ers star. He could be the successor to Calvin Ridley, who joined the Tennessee Titans in the offseason.

However, the price was probably too high for quarterback Trevor Lawrence’s team. As Jacksonville radio station “1010XL” reports, San Francisco demanded pass receiver Zay Jones for Aiyuk in addition to the 2024 first-round pick (17th overall).

Jaguars likely had interest in 49ers star Brandon Aiyuk – price too high?

In addition, the Jaguars would have had to give Brandon Aiyuk a long-term contract, as he would otherwise have become a free agent in 2025.

However, it is not impossible that he will sign it in the Bay Area after all. General manager John Lynch had words of praise for his offensive star around two weeks ago
