NFL: San Francisco 49ers have to do without guard

The San Francisco 49ers are missing one of their offensive guards for weeks – a hand injury is slowing him down

As head coach Kyle Shanahan revealed on Saturday when asked, offensive guard Spencer Burford has broken his hand.

It is not yet clear whether the 24-year-old will have to undergo surgery.

When asked, coach Shanahan announced the probable downtime: the 49ers will have to do without Burford for around three to four weeks

In addition to Burford, Jon Feliciano is also missing from the offensive line with knee problems. This will give more responsibility to rookie Dominick Puni, the 49ers’ 86th overall pick.
