NFL: San Francisco 49ers crash debutant party of Los Angeles Rams

The San Francisco 49ers have surprisingly clearly defeated the Los Angeles Rams in the primetime game. New Rams stars Odell Beckham Jr. and Von Miller made their debuts in the process.

Munich – Despite the debuts of Von Miller and Odell Beckham Jr., the Los Angeles Rams fell to the San Francisco 49ers 31-10. Especially the offence was frighteningly harmless.

While Jimmy Garoppolo put in a strong game manager performance for the Niners, completing 15 of his 19 passes for two touchdowns, Matthew Stafford had a bad day and threw two interceptions to cornerback Jimmy Ward.

NFL: Deebo Samuel shines, OBJ remains pale

The run game was also much better for the hosts, with Elijah Mitchell and Co. rushing for around 100 yards more than their division rivals from the City of Angels. The match-winner was wide receiver Deebo Samuel, who shone with 97 receiving yards, a receiving touchdown and a rushing touchdown.

On the Rams’ side, Odell Beckham Jr, who signed on as a free agent in L.A. after being released by the Cleveland Browns, paled. A deep pass to him was intercepted early in the game, otherwise he caught two balls for 18 yards. Pass rusher Von Miller finished with three tackles and one tackle for loss.

While the Rams fall to 7-3 and are behind the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC West, the 49ers improved their record to 4-5 and are still ahead of the Seattle Seahawks. Both teams have playoff hopes.
