NFL pulls New Orleans Saints quarterback out of action

Bad news for the New Orleans Saints. The NFL is suspending one of their quarterbacks for several weeks

The New Orleans Saints will be without their rookie quarterback Jake Haener for the first six games of the new NFL season.

The Fresno State alum has been suspended for six weeks by the league for a violation of the performance-enhancing drug policy. This is according to the Transaction Wire.

“I recently learned that I tested positive for a substance that was banned by the NFL this summer,” the athlete stated on social media.

He added: “I still don’t know how the substance got into my body as none of my supplements or prescribed medications contain the banned substance. I would never knowingly cheat the game I love, but I have to take full responsibility. “

In the aftermath, the rookie apologised to his franchise, friends and family and said he wanted to “learn and grow from this experience”.

The Saints had selected Haener in the fourth round of this year’s draft. Despite having three other playmakers under contract in New Orleans in Derek Carr, Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill, the youngster made the 53-man squad.
