Surprise in the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs: the Los Angeles Rams win comfortably against the favored Minnesota Vikings and earn themselves a game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Los Angeles Rams have reached the divisional playoffs of the NFL.
The team of head coach Sean McVay won in the Wild Card round against the Minnesota Vikings surprisingly clearly with 27:9 (24:3).
Due to the fires in Los Angeles, the game took place in the stadium of the Arizona Cardinals in Glendale.
Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford completed 19 of his 27 passes for 209 yards and two touchdowns. He did not throw an interception, unlike Sam Darnold.
The Vikings’ playmaker was unable to build on his performances in the regular season, completing just 25 of his 40 passes for just over 200 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
Minnesota was playing catch-up for pretty much the entire game. The potential tie at 10-10 in the second quarter after an alleged Stafford fumble was reversed by the referees: The quarterback had passed the ball forward and not lost it.
NFL playoffs: Rams now face the Eagles
In the divisional playoffs, the Rams now have to face the Philadelphia Eagles, who knocked out Minnesota’s division rivals from Green Bay on Sunday.
The Vikings’ promising season ended after 14 wins. They are still waiting for their first playoff win since 2019. The Rams’ fumble recovery touchdown a short time later, on the other hand, stood – Darnold had given up the ball after one of nine sacks in total.
