Convincing and important victory for the Philadelphia Eagles: In the NFC East duel against the Washington Football Team, Jalen Hurts and Co. dominate almost at will.\
Philadelphia – In the end it was 534 yards. The Philadelphia Eagles’ offense clearly dominated the Washington football team in a 27-17 victory on Game Day 15.
And that on the ground as well as in the air.
Eagles playmaker Jalen Hurts threw for 296 yards and a touchdown. In the running game, Philly totalled 238 yards, running back Miles Sanders alone 131 of them, Hurts also found the end zone twice.
Washington’s offense, on the other hand, struggled in the absence of several starters. Quarterback Garrett Gilbert – actually only third man behind Taylor Heinicke and Kyle Allen, who are both on the Covid list – threw 20 successful passes for 194 yards, no touchdown, but also no interception.
On the ground, the football team even managed a meagre 63 yards – no comparison to Philadelphia’s explosive rushing offence.
Eagles knocking on playoff door
With the win, the Eagles (7-7) moved into eighth place in the NFC and are knocking on the door of the playoffs again. Washington (6-8), on the other hand, will probably have to win its remaining three games to have any chance of making the postseason.
Head coach Ron Rivera’s team will travel to the Dallas Cowboys in the Sunday Night Game on Matchday 16. The Eagles also face the New York Giants in the next NFC East duel.
