NFL: Philadelphia Eagles star Jalen Carter faces hostility after tackle on Jordan Love

The Green Bay Packers are worried about their quarterback Jordan Love. Meanwhile, fans go off on the player who caused the injury

In American football, there are unsightly tackles that happen on purpose and there are unsightly tackles that happen unintentionally.

Jalen Carter’s tackle on Jordan Love during the Philadelphia Eagles’ game against the Green Bay Packers (34-29) was definitely one of the unintentional ones.

Unfortunately, the Green Bay franchise quarterback suffered a serious injury and will be out indefinitely.

For some Packers fans, the unfortunate injury just before the end of the Brazil game prompted them to storm Carter’s social media accounts.

The Eagles’ 23-year-old D-lineman was heavily attacked on social media after his tackle and shared it on Instagram.

Carter posted a screenshot of his private messages. “You’re a disgusting player,” read one comment. Another user attacked the young Eagles star personally: “F*ck you for hurting Jordan Love. ”

Carter defends himself on Instagram

What Carter revealed publicly was probably only a small part of the hostility against him. The defensive tackle defended himself via the screenshot he posted on his Instagram story.

“It was a football play,” Carter wrote and sent speedy recovery wishes to Love: ”Wishing Jordan a speedy recovery.”

The former Georgia Bulldogs college star obviously didn’t mean to intentionally hurt Love, but the frustration of some Packers fans after the opening loss in Sao Paulo probably runs deep.
