Nick Foles is a Philadelphia Eagles legend after winning the Super Bowl, now the quarterback is ending his career.
The Philadelphia Eagles, who Nick Foles gave their first and so far only Super Bowl victory in the 2017 season, published a video on the “X” platform on Thursday at the same time as their ex-quarterback, in which Foles announced the end of his career.
After Foles spent the 2023 season without a team, the quarterback has now decided to retire from the NFL for good.
He last played for the Indianapolis Colts as third quarterback in the 2022 season. He is best remembered as a Super Bowl winner in a fantastic 2017 season for the Eagles. They selected him in the third round of the 2012 draft.
In fact, the 2013 MVP is the quarterback with the highest pass completion percentage in NFL playoff history. With 68.1% of passes completed, Foles ranks ahead of stars like Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow and Matthew Stafford.
“It’s been an incredible journey full of unforgettable moments and amazing people,” Foles said. “From being drafted by the Eagles to winning the Super Bowl, every step has been a blessing. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to retire as a Philadelphia Eagle,” said the 35-year-old. “The City of Brotherly Love has always felt like home to me as an NFL player. Philadelphia is a city I truly love. And it’s been an honor to wear the Eagles jersey. “
After much thought and prayer, I’ve decided to retire from the NFL. It’s been an incredible 11-year journey filled with unforgettable moments and amazing people. From being drafted by the Eagles to winning the Super Bowl, every step has been a blessing.
