Patrick Peterson spoke out about his ex-team in a podcast and made accusations against Kyler Murray. Now the quarterback is speaking out with clear words on Twitter.
Phoenix/Munich – Ex-Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson looks at the miserable athletic situation of his ex-team in the podcast “All things covered”. He criticises quarterback Kyler Murray in particular and accuses him of: “Kyler Murray only cares about Kyler Murray.”
The Cardinals, despite top offensive players such as Marquise Brown, DeAndre Hopkins and Kyler Murray, have fallen far short of their expectations this season and, with a record of 4-8, have only minimal chances of making the playoffs. But Kyler Murray now rejects the accusations of his former teammate via Twitter and fires back.
This isn’t true…you on some weird shit @p2 you got my number, if you really felt like this as a “big bro” or “mentor” you supposed to call me and tell me, not drag me so your podcast can grow… https://t.co/MFqbMKh3la

“That’s not true. Patrick Peterson, you’re full of weird shit,” the 25-year-old wrote. If the corner back really felt that way about him, as a good friend he better let him know in person and not let his podcast go through the roof as a result, Murray added.
Kyler Murray: Relationship with Head Coach Kingsbury expandable
However, previous statements from the Cardinals quarterback suggest that he is at least not struggling to maintain a good relationship with his head coach Kliff Kingsbury, so not everything seems to be wrong with Peterson’s accusations. The 43-year-old coach encountered incomprehension from his quarterback after a risky pass play against the Chargers on fourth down.
With the play ultimately resulting in an interception and the game being lost 25-24, Murray raged at the press conference afterwards, “Schematically, we were screwed on that play.” Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden, in retrospect, felt on the podcast that there was no need for such statements and that Murray would be better off keeping those thoughts to himself.

Patrick Peterson, however, fears Murray and his teammates won't be the ones counted out for this season's poor output, but rather their head coach. "Not only will he maybe be their scapegoat, he definitely will be," the Minnesota Vikings defensive player let slip.
Reconciliation between Murray and Peterson still pending
A reconciliation between the two former teammates has yet to take place and is not in sight after the latest firings by Kyler Murray via Twitter.
Peterson and Murray played together in the 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 seasons under head coach Kliff Kingsbury in Phoenix and did not make the playoffs together, nor did they have a positive record. Possibly an old wound that the two are still nursing.
