NFL: New York Giants – Jaxson Dart refuses to change his playing style: “We don’t play soccer here.”

Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart takes another hard hit despite suffering a concussion earlier in the game. The rookie remains undeterred and sticks to his playing style.

Quarterback Jaxson Dart of the New York Giants took a hard hit on the sideline in the first quarter of the 15-33 loss to the New England Patriots.

Although he could have stepped out of bounds a few steps earlier to gain a few less yards, Dart emphasized afterward that he would play the scene the same way again.

The fact that he missed the previous two games due to a concussion and had been examined for a possible head injury in four of the last eight games does not change his attitude.

“No, I understand the question, but that’s football,” Dart said.

“I’m going to get hit – whether I’m in the pocket or out of it. I’ve played that way my whole life. If you’ve followed my career, that shouldn’t surprise anyone. We’re not playing soccer here. You’re going to get hit. That’s part of the game.”

New York Giants suffer seventh consecutive defeat

The rookie was scrambling out of the pocket looking for a first down when Christian Ellis hit him hard with a legal tackle. Dart landed right on his own sideline. “It was a good hit,” he said afterward. Interim coach Mike Kafka saw no problem with Dart’s behavior: “Of course, we don’t want unnecessary hits, but he was on his way out of bounds.” “Like I said, I’ve played this way my whole life,” Dart clarified once again. “I also slid and avoided a lot of hits. But you’re going to get hit. That’s football.”

For the Giants, it was their seventh consecutive defeat and their 13th consecutive away loss.
