NFL – New Orleans Saints: Taysom Hill is doing things “I’ve never done before”

Taysom Hill already played a large part of the offensive positions with the New Orleans Saints. In preparation for the upcoming NFL season, however, he is taking a completely new approach

Taysom Hill is something like the Swiss army knife of the New Orleans Saints.

Quarterback, wide receiver, occasionally running back or tight end – the 33-year-old has played almost every available position in an NFL offense with the exception of offensive line.

Nevertheless, the preparation for the upcoming NFL season is still a special one. As “The Times-Picayune”, a newspaper based in New Orleans, reports, Hill is completing drills week by week with different position groups.

Last week he worked with the running backs, this week with the tight ends. Hill is also said to have already been used as a fullback.

“It’s a lot of fun. It’s funny to say that after seven years of doing this, I’m being asked to do things I’ve never done before. It’s exciting and challenging for me and I love being challenged like that. I’m very grateful to people for giving me these unique and fun opportunities,” Hill is quoted as saying.

Saints OC Klint Kubiak impressed with Taysom Hill

Klint Kubiak, the Saints’ new offensive coordinator and last year’s offensive passing game specialist for the San Francisco 49ers, is full of praise for the veteran and hints that Hill’s role should be more clearly defined by the end of the preseason.

“Taysom was phenomenal here early on. We’ve used him in a lot of positions, as he’s done throughout his career. He’s a really smart guy, and we’re looking forward to giving him a lot of playing time early on. And as the season gets closer, we’ll narrow down the choices,” Kubiak said.
