Round a week after his retirement, Tom Brady has spoken out for the first time. In his podcast, the 44-year-old explains why he feels very good about his decision – and why he still won’t rule out a comeback.
Munich/Tampa Bay – It has now been six days since Tom Brady announced his retirement on Instagram.
After everyone who felt called to do so congratulated him on his great career, the 44-year-old is already bringing up thoughts of a comeback.
Brady: “Never say never “
On his own “Let’s Go!” podcast, Brady said, “I take things as they come. Right now I’m not thinking anything, but you know, never say never,” the seven-time Super Bowl champion said.
“As of now, I feel very good about my decision. But how it will be in six months, I can’t say,” revealed the quarterback, who is technically still under contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
However, he also made it clear not to waste any thoughts on retirement at the moment: “It doesn’t look like that at the moment,” says Brady. “But at the same time, you have to be realistic. Everybody knows I loved playing. “
However, he left little doubt for now with his final sentence, “I’m just looking forward to what I can do outside of playing right now. I can be that honest.”
Tom Brady will turn 45 on 3 August, the start of the preseason. Whether he can come back then is more than doubtful. But if there’s one player who can do it, it’s the “GOAT”.
