NFL: Mega suspensions for Cardinals receiver Zay Jones and Rams O-lineman Alaric Jackson – violation of NFL rules of conduct

Suddenly the NFL is raining suspensions. Both a Rams O-lineman and a Cardinals wide receiver are sidelined for several games

As NFL insider Ian Rapoport reports, the league has imposed suspensions on two players just two weeks before the start of the season.

Zay Jones, wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals, will be suspended the first five games without pay for violating the NFL’s rules of conduct. Presumably, the punishment is related to an arrest in November when the Cardinals pass receiver was arrested and charged with domestic violence.

Rams offensive lineman Alaric Jackson was also hit. He will also be suspended without pay for a conduct policy violation and will not be able to play in the first two games of the season. A tough loss for the Californians, who will be without their starting left tackle.

The reasons behind Jackson’s suspension are still unclear.

“Adam Schefter” followed up on the evening of the revelations – another athlete is to be punished for violating the rules of conduct. Free agent J.C. Jackson will not be available in Week 1 of the NFL should a franchise decide to sign the cornerback. Jackson was active for the New England Patriots in 2023.
