Two former NFL players are now shareholders in the Seattle Seawolves rugby team. Something “big” is to be built.
Marshawn Lynch and Marcus Peters have independently enjoyed successful NFL careers and are now joint shareholders in the Seattle Seawolves.
More rumors about Brock Purdy’s new contract
Lynch is a five-time Pro Bowler and won the Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks in 2014. Since retiring from his playing career, he has already invested in other sports teams in the soccer sector.
In the rugby franchise’s official statement, he is quoted as saying: “Rugby is about culture, community, and respect – when an opportunity like this came up, I had to take it because, you know, those are the qualities I embody.”
He continues: “This isn’t just about business. It’s about building something with substance and history. The Seawolves are building something ‘awesome’ here, and I’m here to support that.”
Peters also has active ties to the Seattle area
Peters played for the Washington Huskies during his college days and therefore has ties to the Seattle area. He played for the Chiefs, Rams, Ravens, and finally the Raiders during his nine years in the NFL.
Both new investors are from Oakland, California, and know the West Coast very well.
