The Los Angeles Rams’ recent success would not have been possible without Sean McVay. By beating the Minnesota Vikings, he reached a special milestone.
Head Coach Sean McVay has added another impressive mark to his already impressive career with the Los Angeles Rams.
With the Rams’ 30-20 win over the Minnesota Vikings in the Week 8 Thursday Night Football game, McVay has already become the most successful head coach in Rams history. The 38-year-old celebrated his 80th victory, including the playoffs, thereby overtaking John Robinson (79), who led the NFL franchise between 1983 and 1991.
McVay took over as head coach in Los Angeles in 2017 at the age of just 30, making him the youngest head coach in NFL history to date. Prior to that, he spent several years with the Washington Redskins.
NFL: McVay leads Rams to Super Bowl
In just his second season, he led the Rams to the Super Bowl, which was lost to the New England Patriots. Three years later, in the 2021 season, they made it to the final again, this time winning the title against the Cincinnati Bengals.
In the seven full seasons with McVay, Los Angeles made the playoffs five times. His offense has shaped the NFL in recent years and he has been one of the most influential coaches in recent history.
