The free agency continues to heat up. The now 39-year-old Joe Flacco signs a one-year contract with the Indianapolis Colts. It’s the next chapter for the former star quarterback
As Adam Schefter reports, the Indianapolis Colts and quarterback Joe Flacco have agreed on a one-year contract that guarantees the NFL comeback player from last season 4.5 million dollars. The income could rise to as much as 8.7 million dollars.
It is the next chapter in a miraculous resurrection for the 39-year-old, who was still without a team at the start of the 2023 season after his performance with the Broncos and Jets had declined sharply following ten successful years with the Baltimore Ravens (2008 to 2018).
Following the serious injury to Deshaun Watson, whose backups were unable to compensate for his absence, the Cleveland Browns signed the 2012 Super Bowl winner.
Flacco led the Browns into the playoffs with a 4-1 record as a starter. At the end of the season, he had 1,616 passing yards, 13 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. In the Wild Card Round, the Browns were clearly defeated by the Houston Texans 14:45.
