In the documentary series Hard Knocks, a TV team traditionally follows an NFL franchise through the offseason. This year, fans get an insight into the New York Giants’ preparations for a very special season

In the 19th edition of the preseason documentary series Hard Knocks, the New York Giants are the protagonists of the series for the first time.

This was announced by the NFL on Wednesday. The new season will be broadcast in the USA from July 2 with new episodes every week on Tuesdays on HBO.

It is a special NFL season for the Giants: the traditional franchise is not only starting its 100th season, but is also in the spotlight this year as the opponent of the Carolina Panthers in the Munich Game at the Allianz Arena, especially in Germany.

The season will cover the New Yorkers’ offseason from January to July, highlighting the scouting combine, free agency, the draft and team minicamps, among other things.

“As we head into our 100th season, we look forward to giving our fans the opportunity to see what it takes to build an NFL squad,” said Nilay Shah, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Brand Strategy for the New York Giants. “Since the end of last season, we’ve given NFL Films unprecedented access to this crucial time of year. We know viewers will get glimpses of moments that have never been captured before and look forward to them learning more about our Giants’ story.”

The Giants follow the New York Jets at Hard Knocks, who were covered on camera in 2023.

Since 2013, NFL rules have governed which teams can (or must) participate in Hard Knocks. Either a team that volunteers or an NFL team that meets the following criteria is required:

• no Hard Knocks participation in the past ten years

• not a first season for the Head Coach

• no playoff participation in the past two seasons
