Micah Parsons has transferred to the Green Bay Packers. However, it remains to be seen whether he will be able to play in Week 1.
Anyone who thought that Micah Parsons’ back injury was just an excuse is now being proven wrong.
Although the linebacker has transferred from the Dallas Cowboys to the Green Bay Packers, he is worried about his debut with his new team.
He passed the medical examination, but the back injury that plagued him in Dallas is still a problem.
During the past few weeks with the Cowboys, his back problems were the reason for his absence from training. Critics feared that they might be used as a reason to continue the holdout and put pressure on the Cowboys in negotiations for a new contract.
According to the latest reports, Parsons is suffering from a facet joint sprain in the L4/L5 vertebrae. He recently took part in training with the Packers and could also be cleared to play in Week 1 this weekend, making his debut for the Packers against the Detroit Lions. One thing is clear: the 26-year-old is desperate to play.
Parsons recently signed a four-year contract with the Packers. He will receive $188 million, $136 million of which is guaranteed. This makes him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.
