NFL: Green Bay Packers continue their dream start! Home win against the Washington Commanders

The Green Bay Packers have made a perfect start to the new season. They beat the Washington Commanders 27-18. In addition to the defense, Jordan Love also impressed across the board.

The Green Bay Packers made another statement at the start of the second matchday in the NFL!

The Packers prevailed 27-18 against the highly rated Washington Commanders at their home ground, Lambeau Field.

The Packers played a controlled game from the outset. At halftime, the score was already 14-3. Although the Commanders came within one score of tying the game at one point, the Packers always found the right answer when it was needed. Jordan Love impressed with over 300 total yards and two touchdown passes. The fact that his accuracy was modest, with only 61 percent of his passes completing, is not a major concern. The best receiver was Tucker Kraft with 124 receiving yards and one touchdown, while Romeo Doubs caught the other score. Noteworthy: Rookie Matthew Golden went without a catch on two targets.

NFL: Washington Commanders lack punch

On the other hand, the Commanders were unable to get their running game going at any point. Austin Ekeler and rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt combined for just 34 rushing yards on twelve attempts. More bad news: Ekeler had to leave the game early, and there are fears that he may have torn his Achilles tendon. Jayden Daniels completed only 24 of 42 pass attempts, gaining just 200 yards and one touchdown. That’s only 4.8 yards per pass. By comparison, Love averaged 9.4. Tight end Zach Ertz was the Commanders’ leading receiver (64 yards, one touchdown), and Deebo Samuel also celebrated his first touchdown in a Commanders jersey (44 yards). The best news for the Commanders offense: Terry McLaurin (five catches for 48 yards) was better integrated again. In week three, the Green Bay Packers travel to the Cleveland Browns (0-1) for their first away game of the season, while the Commanders host the Las Vegas Raiders (1-0).
