The New York Giants suffer their third defeat of the season against the Kansas City Chiefs. Quarterback Russell Wilson disappoints with 18 of 32 passes for 160 yards and two interceptions. Head coach Brian Daboll leaves open who will start as quarterback next week.
After a slight upswing in his performance against the Dallas Cowboys last week, Russell Wilson was unable to promote himself against the Kansas City Chiefs.
After his New York Giants’ 9-22 loss on Sunday night, head coach Brian Daboll refused to comment on Russell Wilson’s status as the future starting quarterback.
“Yes, you’ve asked me about players right after games before,” Daboll said. “I’m not going to answer that.”
Jaxson Dart was used in a small package of plays, as he was last week.
The rookie was on the field for three snaps, handing the ball off twice to running back Cam Skattebo and running once himself for three yards. He had already handed the ball off twice and chosen to run once himself against the Cowboys.
Fans also express their displeasure with Wilson
In the Giants’ home game in Week 3, the crowd showed its enthusiasm for Dart as loudly as its dissatisfaction with Wilson.
While the veteran was met with loud boos, the fans chanted “We Want Dart” several times.
Daboll also commented on this: “Jaxson is making good progress. We will continue to work with him. I have great confidence in him, in his development, and we will build on that.”
He continued: “Honestly, I would boo too – if you’re not good enough, don’t score, don’t finish. I understand that. That’s the business. We just have to get better.”
New York has already scored in single digits twice this season – the only team in the NFL to do so.
To make matters worse, the Giants had no healthy kicker available after kicker Graham Gano was injured during warm-ups.
After just three games, things are already heating up for the New York Giants.
