NFL: Eli Manning interested in shares of the New York Giants

New York Giants owner John Mara is interested in selling up to ten percent of his shares. This has fueled the rumor mill: one possible buyer could be Eli Manning.

Eli Manning is one of the greatest legends of the New York Giants. The former quarterback won two Super Bowls with his team in 2008 and 2012 – both against the great Tom Brady.

Now Manning could be competing with Brady on a different level and rising to the management level of his franchise. As the Giants recently confirmed, owner John Mara wants to sell shares of up to ten percent. According to rumors, Manning is also being considered for this.

The Giants legend has already expressed interest in owning shares of his New York team at some point in 2022. “I’m definitely interested, it’s just a matter of it being right for all sides,” Manning explained in an interview with “FOS.” “But I don’t think the Giants will be for sale anytime soon,” the two-time Super Bowl MVP added.

Just three years later, the franchise is now for sale after all – at least a small share of the team. Whether Manning’s involvement is realistic seems questionable at the moment. If Mara wants to achieve the highest possible economic profit, Manning shouldn’t have a chance.

But it is also quite possible that the Giants owner wants to unofficially promote Manning and further bind him to the franchise – he currently has a job in New York in an advisory capacity for business and fan issues. Then nothing would stand in the way of Manning’s involvement with the New York Giants.
