NFL Draft 2023: Carolina Panthers may be trading for Chicago Bears’ No. 1 pick

The Chicago Bears appear to be giving up their No. 1 pick in the 2023 draft (April 27-29). According to consistent media reports, a trade with the Carolina Panthers is coming.

The Carolina Panthers are apparently looking to solve their year-long quarterback problem in the 2023 draft (April 27-29).

According to several reports, the Panthers are trading for the Chicago Bears’ No. 1 pick. This is also reported – citing the reports – on the franchise’s homepage.

In return, the 9th pick in 2023, the 61st pick in 2023, the first-round pick in 2024 and the second-round pick in 2025 will go to the Bears. In addition, wide receiver DJ Moore is moving to the Bears. Moore has already confirmed the move on Twitter.

The Panthers are expected to focus on four quarterback favourites Bryce Young (Alabama), C.J. Stroud (Ohio State), Will Levis (Kentucky), Anthony Richardson (Florida). In terms of playmakers, the franchise has tried a lot in recent years but hasn’t been happy since parting ways with Cam Newton.

No luck at the quarterback position

Because both attempts with Kyle Allen, Teddy Bridgewater, Sam Darnold or Baker Mayfield did not bear fruit in long-term solutions. Even a return by Newton went awry.

The Panthers, however, are not just reshaping themselves on the pitch. In January, they hired Frank Reich as their new head coach. He is supposed to lead the team back to the playoffs, which was last achieved in 2017.
