The Detroit Lions won the Monday Night Game against the Seattle Seahawks. In doing so, Jared Goff set an NFL record.

There was an NFL record for Jared Goff: the Lions quarterback completed every one of his 18 passes. There has never been a 100 percent completion percentage with at least 11 passes.

The previous record was held by Drew Brees with a 97 percent completion percentage from 2019. There was a blemish on the Two Minute Warning just before the end when Goff was sacked in his own end zone for a safety.

Goff threw for 292 yards and two touchdowns. But that’s not all: he also caught a touchdown. On a trick play in the third quarter, Amon-Ra St. Brown threw the first pass of his career to his playmaker for a touchdown.

St. Brown also scored through the air, adding 45 receiving yards. Jameson Williams was the top receiver with 80 yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Jahmyr Gibbs was hard to stop with 78 yards and two touchdowns, and David Montgomery added 40 yards and a touchdown.
Despite career-best performances from Smith, the Seahawks couldn’t keep up.

The Seahawks also had an outstanding game on offense. Geno Smith completed 38 of his 55 passes for 395 yards, all career bests for the Seahawks’ starting quarterback. However, he only threw one touchdown and an interception to Kerby Joseph late in the game.

The running game was more dominant: with only twelve runs, Kenneth Walker managed 80 yards and a whopping three touchdowns. Zach Charbonnet also contributed 15 yards on two runs.

Once again, DK Metcalf was the top receiver, catching seven balls for 104 yards, but he fumbled early in the game. The two turnovers ultimately made the difference. Tight end AJ Barner, a rookie, caught his first career touchdown.

The Lions have time off in week five, while the Seattle Seahawks host the New York Giants at home in Lumen Field.
