The Dallas Cowboys have relatively little leeway in terms of cap space in the upcoming offseason. The Texans have now given themselves at least a little more breathing room.
The Dallas Cowboys are facing a complicated offseason in the NFL. The squad has some issues, but the Texans have hardly any cap space. Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has now helped to create a little more leeway.
The Cowboys restructured the contract with their number one receiver, securing around $20 million in additional cap space. Lamb’s cap hit is just under $15 million in the 2025 season.
After the adjustment, the 25-year-old’s base salary for the coming season is $1.17 million, and the signing bonus has been spread over five years.
Lamb: “I want to win”
When asked by a user on platform “X” why he would agree to such a deal, Lamb replied, “Because I want to win. It takes more than just me.”
After Lamb, many experts expect a similar restructuring for quarterback Dak Prescott. The playmaker’s cap hit next season is $89.8 million.
By converting part of the base salary into a signing bonus and stretching it over five years, the cap hit could be reduced to a good $50 million.
