NFL – Dallas Cowboys: Owner Jerry Jones offered Micah Parsons to the New York Jets

Interesting revelation from Jerry Jones: The Cowboys owner reveals which team he offered Micah Parsons to before trading him to the Packers.

Exciting revelation from Jerry Jones. The owner of the Dallas Cowboys revealed in a radio interview that he offered Micah Parsons to the New York Jets before trading him to the Green Bay Packers.

On ESPN New York Radio, the billionaire said he called the Jets’ management. When asked by the host whether the Cowboys were interested in star defensive tackle Quinnen Williams, Jones confirmed that Williams was the Jets player he wanted to acquire in the trade he proposed, along with draft picks.

However, Jones’ proposal was not particularly successful, as the Jets informed him that they “did not have the resources to engage in talks.”

Cowboys owner reaffirms his stance

In the end, Jones traded his star defensive player to Green Bay for defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round picks, where Parsons signed a four-year contract worth $188 million.

During the conversation, Jones reiterated his stance that he had always wanted a “dominant” interior defensive lineman, which explains his interest in Williams.

“A prerequisite for the entire trade was that we had to have a truly, frankly, significant dominant inside defensive player immediately,” said the billionaire: “You couldn’t understand my thinking behind the trade if you didn’t have that in mind.”
