NFL – Dallas Cowboys: Micah Parsons with a message for Jerry Jones

The Dallas Cowboys have always been very reluctant to use free agency. Micah Parsons thinks that needs to change urgently.

Even though Dak Prescott is very optimistic about what the Dallas Cowboys are fundamentally capable of, it should be clear that they have to do something in free agency.

However, the traditional reluctance to sign big names speaks against this. Owner Jerry Jones announced around the Super Bowl in New Orleans that not much will change in the approach of taking more of a defensive approach in the offseason.

Instead, linebacker Micah Parsons could get a new contract; the 25-year-old is entering the last year of his rookie contract.

But Parsons, of all people, is now making it very clear: reinforcements are needed. And urgently.

“The talent is there. We just have to be as aggressive as [other teams],” Parsons told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. ”I don’t want to sit back and watch other [teams] build and build and we stay at our level. That’s definitely a call to action. I want us to get aggressive and get some players that step up and make a difference. I want us to bring back our own players. That’s just as important. Let’s see what we can do there.”

In 2024, the Cowboys missed the playoffs by a wide margin with a 7-10 record. Bitter: The two division rivals Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles faced each other in the Championship Game, and the Eagles went on to win the Super Bowl.
