Micah Parsons has been offered a mega-deal by the Dallas Cowboys. But he won’t be signing it for the time being.
The Dallas Cowboys are going all in. They want to make Micah Parsons the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL.
This is reported by “All City DLLS”. An agreement with the linebacker is said to exist, but not a final deal. The curious reason: Parsons’ agent David Mulugheta was not involved in the talks. And without his “go-ahead”, Parsons will not sign for the time being.
NFL: Trouble between Cowboys and Parsons’ agent?
It is said that Mulugheta and the Cowboys have not spoken to each other since the NFL Scouting Combine.
It is unclear how much Parsons will earn in the future, according to the negotiations. But it is clear that it would have to be more than $40.25 million per year.
Because Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase recently became the highest-paid non-quarterback with an annual salary of $40.25 million.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones led the negotiations with Parsons, as he explained at the owners’ meeting. He also referred to the tradition that the Cowboys often negotiate directly with the players.
Jerry Jones: Parsons’ agent ‘not a factor’
“The agent is not a factor here to worry about. And I don’t know his name. I don’t mean to disparage him in any way, but this is not about an agent,” Jones said.
Jones continued: “The agent has nothing to do with what we do when we go out on the field against a team. Micah does. The people who have anything to do with what we do in terms of our fans and the football are me and the player, not the agent.”
Parsons emphasized “X” that he will not sign a new contract without the involvement of his agent.
Facts!! David is the best and I will not be doing any deal without @DavidMulugheta involved! Like anyone with good sense I hired experts for a reason. There is no one I trust more when it comes to negotiating contracts than David! There will be no backdoors in this contract… https://t.co/nxKNSIXLvt

Mulugheta should therefore soon be included in the talks. And then the signature should follow soon.
