Micah Parsons’ mega trade has caused quite a stir in Texas. Quarterback Dak Prescott has a clear opinion on the deal.
After months of uncertainty, Micah Parsons has finally said goodbye to the Dallas Cowboys and signed a record contract with the Green Bay Packers. His former quarterback Dak Prescott is happy that “a solution has been found and Micah is being well paid for it.”
“It’s great for him and his family. And we’ll see him back here in a month,” he adds. On September 28, the Green Bay Packers will be guests at AT&T Stadium, and Parsons will return to his old stomping grounds.
Without the trade, Prescott feared potential distractions that could have affected Thursday’s season opener against Super Bowl champions the Philadelphia Eagles: “The focus is now fully on Philly. We’ve had enough news and media around us.”

He added: “I’m not saying we’re better. We have to play and prove it. Even with him [Parsons], we would have had to prove it. With Kenny Clark, we’ve brought in a true leader. He was a Pro Bowler and wants to be here and prove himself again.” In addition to defensive tackle Kenny Clark, the Packers gave up two first-round picks for 2026 and 2027 to Dallas to compensate for Parsons’ departure.
Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer briefly spoke to the entire team on Friday about the defensive end’s departure. Afterward, the focus was entirely on the Eagles, and QB Prescott emphasized that every player on the team knows “how this business works.”
“Maybe it was like a wake-up call for some of the guys” who now have to make up for the loss, Prescott said, looking ahead.
