NFL – Dallas Cowboys: CeeDee Lamb puts first exclamation point on new contract

CeeDee Lamb and the Dallas Cowboys have no news on a new contract. The receiver now makes his first statement

Speculation is also making the rounds around the start of the NFL teams’ training camps. Then, when players don’t show up for the initially voluntary sessions.

That doesn’t always have to mean something. However, in some cases there may well be something behind it. Like with CeeDee Lamb, for example. He was not present at the Cowboys’ opener.

The wide receiver will enter the fifth and final year of his rookie contract in 2024. Most recently, it was said that a hold-in was a likely scenario. Then, when the mandatory measures and training camp are due towards the summer.

This means that Lamb will be with the team but will not take part in training. In this way, he would avoid the fines that a “real” holdout would entail, but at the same time put the team under pressure

He recently told “TMZ Sports” that he would be in Dallas. However, his absence is now causing new speculation. It is likely to be a first statement in the context of contract negotiations.

He had already made a sporting statement in the 2023 season: That’s when he led the NFL with 135 receptions and finished with career highs in yards (1,749) and touchdowns (12).

The Vikings are also looking askance at the absence of a top star. Wide receiver Justin Jefferson did not show up for the start of practice in Minnesota.
