Thanks to a strong last season, Kyler Gordon of the Bears can now look forward to a whopping payday. The general manager is keeping his promise with the extension.
The Chicago Bears have extended cornerback Kyler Gordon’s contract by three years, keeping the promise of general manager Ryan Poles.
At the NFL team owners’ meeting in March, he had claimed that the extension with Gordon was a “priority”.
Gordon gets $40 million in three years
As reported by ESPN, Gordon will earn $40 million through 2028, with $31.25 million guaranteed. These sums make the 26-year-old the highest-paid NFL player in his position of special “slot corner”.
Gordon was the first pick of the 2022 draft for the Bears, who selected him in the second round.
Last season, he recorded a career-best 75 tackles, four tackles for loss, three fumble recoveries and two quarterback hits in 15 games.
