NFL: Chicago Bears give Jonathan Owens time off for girlfriend Simone Biles’ Olympic appearances

In order to be able to watch his wife Simone Biles’ Olympic performances live in Paris, Jonathan Owens of the Chicago Bears has been given time off from training.

The US gymnast Simone Biles recently qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. This also has implications for the NFL franchise Chicago Bears, where her husband Jonathan Owens plays.

So that the 28-year-old can actually support the star gymnast at the Olympics, Owens will be given a few days off by the Bears during the upcoming competitions in the French capital.

Biles recently confirmed this to “USA Today”. “The Bears are actually giving him a couple days off from training camp, so he’ll be there, yes,” Biles said.

For them, gymnastics competitions are scheduled for July 28 as part of the Olympic Games in Paris.

“Any time we can support each other, we’re super excited because our schedules don’t line up that well,” Biles said, happy that Owens received permission from the Bears to travel to Paris for the Olympics.

Biles and Owens have been a couple since 2020 and married since 2023.

For Owens, it is the first opportunity to see his wife perform at the Olympics, as strict Covid regulations were in place in Tokyo in 2021 and he would not have had the opportunity to be by her side during the competitions.
