Due to the enormously increased importance of the match, the Vikings’ clash with the Packers has been rescheduled and will now be broadcast nationwide.
The NFL has announced a last-minute change to the schedule.
Accordingly, the Minnesota Vikings’ clash with the Green Bay Packers in Week 17 has been rescheduled for this Sunday afternoon at 4:25 p.m. ET (10:25 p.m. CET) to better reflect the high importance of this duel.
The FOX channel will broadcast the game nationwide. The game originally scheduled for this slot between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys will be brought forward to 1 p.m. ET.
The Packers, who face the New Orleans on Monday Night Football, could secure a playoff spot with a win before their visit to the Vikings.
But for the Vikings, this Sunday’s NFC North clash is about a preliminary decision in the battle for the top seed in the NFC.
If they win against the Packers – as they did in September at Lambeau Field – they still have a chance of finishing first in the NFC and would have a powerful tailwind going into the regular season showdown a week later against the Detroit Lions.
It might not be the last clash between the two rivals this winter; they could meet again in the Championship Game at the end of January.
