NFL: C.J. Stroud and Joshua Dobbs excel again – San Francisco 49ers back on the road to success

C.J. Stroud of the Houston Texans delivers another gala performance, Joshua Dobbs of the Minnesota Vikings writes another chapter in his fairytale. The San Francisco 49ers get back on track and the Baltimore Ravens experience a nightmare

Green Bay Packers @ Pittsburgh Steelers 19:23

The final drive was dramatic: The Packers were at their opponents’ 16-yard line on the last play of the game and could have secured the win with a touchdown, but quarterback Jordan Love’s (289 YDS, 2 TD, 2, Int) throw was intercepted by Damontae Kazee, who secured the win for the Steelers.

Kenny Pickett, Pittsburgh’s quarterback, only had to deliver a below-average game. He only managed 126 passing yards and had no touchdowns and no turnovers. The running game was also very effective, gaining 205 yards. The Steelers improve to a record of six wins and three losses, while the Packers have a 3-6 record.

Cleveland Browns @ Baltimore Ravens 33-31

The game couldn’t have started worse for the Browns. On the very first drive, Deshaun Watson threw a pick six.

Kyle Hamilton intercepted the ball and carried it into the end zone. Later, Watson (213 YDS, 1 TD, 1 INT) suffered an ankle injury, but held on to give his team a 15-point comeback win, which came courtesy of a 40-yard field goal on Dustin Hopkins’ final play. Fun fact: The Ravens had led the game for 59 minutes up to that point. What a nightmare.

Lamar Jackson, the Ravens’ quarterback, totaled 223 passing yards, one touchdown pass and two interceptions. The Browns now have a record of six wins and three losses, while the Ravens are 7-3.

Houston Texans @ Cincinnati Bengals 30:27

Shocker in Cincinnati! The Houston Texans remain one of the positive surprises of the season and also beat the Bengals. With a 39-yard field goal, kicker Matt Ammendola secured the win for his team on the last play of the game.

Quarterback C.J. Stroud once again provided an offensive spectacle, throwing for 356 yards and a touchdown and also running into the end zone once himself. However, his interception shortly before the end almost cost the Texans victory. However, Stroud’s brilliant last-minute drive, during which he covered 55 yards in 93 seconds, ultimately set up the winning field goal.

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow recorded 347 passing yards and two touchdowns, but also threw two interceptions. Both teams now have a record of five wins and four losses.

San Francisco 49ers @ Jacksonville Jaguars 34-3

After three defeats in a row, the San Francisco 49ers have impressively found their way back to success. Quarterback Brock Purdy had a strong game with 296 passing yards and three touchdown passes. Running back Christian McCaffrey gained a total of 142 yards, but remained without a touchdown for the first time in 17 games.

As a result, he continues to share his touchdown record of 17 games in a row with Lenny Moore. A new record was missed, although the 49ers kept trying to give McCaffrey another touchdown in the final phase.

Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence never really found his game. He managed 185 passing yards, went without a touchdown and caused three turnovers (2 interceptions, 1 fumble). Like the Jaguars, the 49ers now have a 6-3 record.

New Orleans Saints @ Minnesota Vikings 19:27

Bitter for the New Orleans Saints: Quarterback Derek Carr suffered an injury when he took a hit from Danielle Hunter. The Saints reported that the passer suffered both a shoulder injury and a concussion. Jameis Winston filled in for him, finishing with 122 passing yards, two touchdown passes and two interceptions.

Vikings emergency quarterback Joshua Dobbs once again excelled with 268 passing yards, one touchdown pass and one rushing touchdown. The Vikings are 6-4 on the season, while the Saints are 5-5.

Tennessee Titans @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers 6:20

After four losses in a row, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers finally had a sense of achievement again. Quarterback Baker Mayfield threw for 278 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. His favorite target was wide receiver Mike Evans, who caught passes for 143 yards and a touchdown.

Titans quarterback Will Levis, who was picked in the 2nd round of the 2023 NFL Draft, had a less than stellar day. He only completed 19 of his 39 passes for 199 yards, failed to score a touchdown and threw an interception.

However, he also got no relief from the running game, which only managed 42 yards. Tampa Bay is now 4-5 on the season, while Tennessee is 3-6.
