NFL: Brawl at Seahawks practice – DK Metcalf hits teammate with helmet

Seahawks players clash five times during practice. There is not only a bleeding nose and a missed helmet throw, but also positive words from the head coach in the end

After two intensive weeks of training, the Seattle Seahawks’ nerves are clearly on edge. There were several altercations on Wednesday. Coach Mike Macdonald had to interrupt the session and calm down his protégés.

It all started when cornerback Tre Brown and wide receiver Jake Bobo exchanged blows after a play in an 11-on-11. According to “ESPN”, the latter took off the 26-year-old’s helmet – Brown let himself be provoked and made the wideout’s nose bleed

While Bobo was still being treated, tight end Pharaoh Brown and linebacker Tyrel Dodson also caused a commotion, according to the report, before Brown “played” himself into focus again: This time, Seattle star DK Metcalf was also involved.

The wide receiver then grabbed Brown’s helmet, including the guardian cap, swung and hit safety K’Von Wallace with it. Macdonald then had to intervene

“We’re on the edge right now, and I think the guys know that,” the head coach commented on what was happening on the pitch, adding: “Hey, let’s look out for each other. “

In the further course of practice, wide receiver Dee Eskridge and cornerback Carlton Johnson as well as edge rusher Derick Hall and guard Christian Haynes apparently clashed

Despite the heated atmosphere, Macdonald concluded on a positive note: “DK gave a great speech at the end of training and put everything into perspective. The boys finished the game in the right way. I’m proud of our guys,” enthused the 37-year-old.

The Seahawks open the preseason on Saturday at SoFi Stadium with a game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
