NFL: Baker Mayfield injured – Tampa Bay Buccaneers lose to Los Angeles Rams

Baker Mayfield’s return to the L.A. Rams is anything but ideal. The result is a clear defeat and an injury.

This is probably not how he imagined the match against his former team would go. Baker Mayfield was a guest with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the Los Angeles Rams in the Sunday Night Game of the twelfth NFL match day. The playmaker lost clearly to the Rams 7:34 – and sat on the bench for the entire second half. After leading the Bucs to a touchdown in the second quarter, Mayfield went to the medical tent on the sideline.

The 30-year-old, who had already thrown two interceptions, initially returned to the field with a suspected sprained left shoulder.

Bridgewater takes over for Mayfield

However, after attempting a long pass, he landed on the ground again and appeared to be in pain. He did not return after the break. An examination on Monday should provide clarity.

Teddy Bridgewater took over, but even he was unable to change the outcome of the clear defeat with his 62 passing yards on eight completed passes.

Instead, it was the L.A. Rams who impressed with their performance. Wide receiver Davante Adams caught two of quarterback Matthew Stafford’s three touchdown passes, and Colby Parkinson also had reason to celebrate with a catch in the end zone.

Stafford remains without an interception

The Rams were also successful on the other side of the ball. Cobie Durant also helped his team score six points with a 50-yard interception return.

Meanwhile, Stafford made no mistakes, completing his eighth consecutive game without an interception and leading the Rams to another victory. The California team now has a 9-2 record and leads not only the NFC West but also the entire NFC. The Bucs are at the top of the NFC South with six wins and five losses.
