Matt Ryan has officially announced the end of his career. The creative mind will even end his career as a player for the Atlanta Falcons.
This is despite the fact that “Matty Ice” was last under contract with the Indianapolis Colts until 2022. Since then, the 38-year-old has been a free agent.
So now it’s clear: Ryan is officially retiring from the NFL. To end his career as a Falcon, the former star playmaker has signed a one-day contract in Atlanta.
Ryan was under contract with the Falcons for 15 years and shaped the franchise like no other.
“Today, 16 years after I was drafted, my childhood dream officially comes to an end,” Ryan’s farewell video on the Falcons’ social media channels read.
“I’m honored to end my career as a Falcon,” Ryan said, adding, “As a football player, you have no control over where you start. I’m lucky that my start and finish were here in Atlanta. “
