NFL 2024 – Dallas Cowboys: Quarrel with Jones? CeeDee Lamb counters, Dak Presott disagrees

Is there more trouble brewing? CeeDee Lamb counters statements from owner Jerry Jones with a “lol”. Dak Prescott disagrees with the boss

How tense is the mood with the Dallas Cowboys?

After an already critically eyed offseason, CeeDee Lamb is currently causing unrest because the wide receiver wants to reach a new contract with a holdout.

The problem: owner Jerry Jones remains extremely calm. “I’m in no rush to get it done,” Jones said.

That didn’t sit well with Lamb, because when Jones’ comments went viral on social media, he tweeted a simple “lol” in response.

Three letters that look deep:

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was far more brash than Jones. He even contradicted the Cowboys boss relatively clearly. “It’s very important to me that it happens,” said Prescott.

Clearly, he himself is entering his final year of his contract and needs good weapons in the offense to lead the Cowboys back to the playoffs and shine in the process.

At least Jones let slip that there is at least some movement regarding the new contract.

He did not know whether Lamb would be starting the first game of the season, “but I know we’re doing a good job and making real progress, and I don’t think we’re losing pace where we are now,” Jones said.

Interestingly, almost in parallel with his father, managing director Stephen Jones underlined his ambitions to reach an agreement with Lamb. “We think highly of CeeDee, and we understand why he’s not here,” Stephen Jones said on the Doomsday podcast. “But we continue to work very hard to get this deal done. We waste zero thought on CeeDee not being a Dallas Cowboy. CeeDee won’t play anywhere but Dallas, but we want this to be a great situation for him when we’re done, but also a good situation for us to put a great football team on the field.”

However, a new deal is still not in the bag. The 25-year-old contributed 1,749 yards and twelve touchdowns on 135 receptions in 2023.
