Taysom Hill, unlike years past, will no longer play a quarterback role with the New Orleans Saints. Rather, he is pencilled in as a tight end. Not exactly what the soon-to-be 32-year-old would have wanted.
Munich/New Orleans – Taysom Hill is known NFL-wide as the Swiss Army knife personified. He can run, throw and also catch balls.
But under new head coach Dennis Allen, throwing in particular will no longer play a role for Hill with the New Orleans Saints. Allen projects Hill as a tight end. Not exactly what the 31-year-old would have wanted.

On the club’s own website, Hill commented on his situation. “I’m ready to do what I have to do to win us games. It doesn’t matter what position. I don’t get to decide those anyway,” Hill said.
He makes no bones about the fact that he would have preferred to stay at quarterback. “What’s best for the team is not necessarily what I would have wanted,” Hill admitted.
So instead of battling Jameis Winston for the quarterback position, Hill is dueling Adam Trautman for the starting tight end job. Hill missed the final five games of last season and is working his way back towards top form at Saints training camp.
