Foster Moreau, who signed with the New Orleans Saints in May, is well on his way to beating cancer.
Good news from Foster Moreau. The New Orleans Saints tight end announced via Twitter on Monday that his cancer is in full remission.
“After a tumultuous few months, I was blessed with the news that I am in full remission from Hodgkin’s Lymphoma! I am so thankful for everyone who came forward to offer their love and support; Our prayers have been answered. From here, I will continue to live my life as God intended,” Moreau wrote on Twitter.
By way of explanation, remission is the regression of symptoms of disease, in this case a tumour. A distinction is made between a complete remission (complete) and a partial remission (clear improvement, but no normal findings yet).
During the obligatory medical check-up in March, the Saints’ doctor had discovered a life-threatening disease – the so-called Hodgkin’s lymphoma. When the diagnosis came, the 26-year-old announced that he would turn his back on football for the time being and concentrate on therapy.
But the therapy worked so well that a return to the NFL is likely in the near future. The 26-year-old therefore signed a three-year, $12.2 million contract with the Saints in May. The contract includes a guaranteed sum of eight million US dollars.
