On Pro Bowl weekend, Saints running back Alvin Kamara was allegedly guilty of assault. Now, after the criminal charge, a civil charge is also pending against the 27-year-old.
Munich – Bad news for Alvin Kamara. The New Orleans Saints running back is now officially being sued both criminally and civilly. Darnell Greene Jr, with whom Kamara had a run-in outside a nightclub during Pro Bowl weekend, has officially filed a lawsuit against the NFL pro in Louisiana.
It says the running back repeatedly punched his victim, even when he was on the ground and trying to flee. In the process, Greene suffered “severe” injuries to his neck, shoulder, back, knees and face. Photographs attached to the lawsuit purport to show Greene after the attack.
The lawsuit seeks five million US dollars in damages, plus an additional five million in compensation for the injuries suffered.
Kamara faces double charges
According to US media, the lawsuit also allegedly includes quotes from Kamara that could be construed as abuse against the victim.
By the way, Greene is represented by Tony Buzbee. The lawyer has led more than 20 civil lawsuits in the abuse scandal against Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson in recent months.
Kamara is already charged with aggravated assault in the US state of Nevada over the altercation. Surveillance cameras clearly showed that the 27-year-old punched Greene Mann a total of eight times outside a casino in Las Vegas. Among other things, the man suffered a fractured eye socket.
