Minnesota Vikings: Offensive coordinator Wes Phillips arrested for DUI

Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Wes Phillips has been temporarily arrested for DUI.

Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Wes Phillips was temporarily arrested for DUI on Friday night (local time). This was reported by NFL insider Tom Pelissero.

Phillips was found to have a blood alcohol level of 0.8 during a traffic stop, which is why he was taken into custody. However, he was released a few hours later. The 44-year-old’s offense was therefore not a criminal offense, but an administrative offense.

“Wes informed the team immediately after his arrest last night,” the Vikings said in a statement. After consulting with the NFL, the team has decided that Phillips will make the trip to the away game at the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Vikings face the Raiders on Sunday, while Minnesota must win to remain in contention for a playoff spot. With an even record of six wins and six losses, the Vikings are currently in second place in the NFC North.

Phillips took over as offensive coordinator in Minnesota at the start of the 2022 season. He has been working in the NFL since 2007 and has held various positions with different teams since then.
