The Minnesota Vikings lose their second game of the season. After the game, Alexander Mattison is the victim of racist insults
Unfavourable news for Alexander Mattison. On Instagram, the Minnesota Vikings’ running back posted two screenshots of multiple messages in which he is viciously insulted.
“Unbelievable… This is not okay. […] You can hit me up all you want about fantasy or say what a bad player I am. Blah blah blah. I don’t care about that. But this shit is not acceptable. I hope the 60+ people who decided to attack me with disgustingly disrespectful messages really think about what the hell they said and how it really affects someone. Under my helmet I am a human being, a father, a son. That’s just sick.”
In the clips the 25-year-old shared in his story, the senders clearly use racist words. In addition, Mattison is asked to take his own life.
Minnesota had previously lost to the Philadelphia Eagles 28-34, leaving them with a record of 0-2.
Mattison has moved up from backup to starter after the offseason dismissal of superstar Dalvin Cook.
This season, the running back tallied 62 rushing yards on 19 attempts. He also caught six of ten passes for 21 yards and a touchdown. Against Philly, he also lost a fumble for the first time in the season on the Vikings’ second drive.
