Los Angeles Rams: Bobby Wagner has no thoughts of revenge against the Seattle Seahawks

After his trade from the Seattle Seahawks to the Los Angeles Rams, Bobby Wagner has spoken out for the first time. He talks about his motives and the two duels against the Seahawks.

Munich/Los Angeles – It was a moderate quake that shook the sports city of Seattle in March. Bobby Wagner, team captain and top performer, was dismissed by the Seahawks.

A short time later, it became known that he was being traded to, of all teams, the division rivals Los Angeles Rams, who, to make matters worse, are also the reigning Super Bowl winners.

Wagner: “I wanted to stay close to home “

Now the 31-year-old spoke out for the first time about his move to Los Angeles.

But he has no desire for revenge: “A lot of people think I only went to the Rams so I could play the Seahawks twice, but I didn’t have that ‘revenge’ feeling at all,” Wagner said at his inaugural press conference.

“I just want to be happy,” the eight-time All Pro revealed. “I wanted to be home, close to the West Coast. The fact that I’m also playing the Seahawks twice a year now is the cherry on top of the cake.” Wagner is a native of Los Angeles.

Contact by Donald and Ramsey

In doing so, Wagner, who will wear 45 in Los Angeles instead of his old 54 from Seattle, told us he was contacted by Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey.

“When it was a done deal in Seattle, Aaron and Jalen got in touch pretty much immediately, so communication was quick,” Wagner said.

However, he couldn’t resist a dig at the Seahawks: “Of course it was important to be with my family. But I also had family in Seattle, only now I’m also with an organisation that’s capable of winning.”

After the press conference, Wagner signed his contract, which will see him earn $17.5 million over two years, ten million of which is guaranteed.
