Are the Los Angeles Rams losing their biggest defensive weapon? Defensive tackle Aaron Donald is said to be thinking about ending his career in the event of a Super Bowl win.
Los Angeles/Munich – Is one of the NFL’s best defensive players ending his career after Super Bowl 56?
Aaron Donald of the Los Angeles Rams is said to be considering retirement in the event of a triumph against the Cincinnati Bengals. NBC reporter Rodney Harrison reported this during the US broadcaster’s live Super Bowl coverage.
“He told me that there’s a high probability that he’s going to end his career after a Super Bowl win,” Harrison said.

Aaron Donald with the Rams since 2014
For the Rams, a Donald retirement would be a major blow. The 30-year-old defensive tackle is a nightmare for opposing O-lines and quarterbacks. He was nominated to eight Pro Bowls and named NFL Defensive Player of the Year three times, most recently in 2020. In the 2021 regular season, Donald totaled 12.5 sacks and four forced fumbles.
Donald’s contract in Los Angeles runs through the end of the 2024 season. The Pittsburgh native was selected as the 13th pick in the first round in the NFL Draft by the Rams, who were still based in St. Louis at the time.
