Former Cardinals players Patrick Peterson and also Chase Edmonds don’t believe quarterback Kyler Murray will stay in Arizona much longer.
Munich – The rumour mill surrounding Kyler Murray has been bubbling this offseason. The playmaker himself debunked the interim speculation about a trade in March, saying, “I’m an Arizona Cardinal, and I’ve given the team everything I have so far, and I’ll continue to do that. I’m not really worried about my future as a Cardinal.”
Patrick Peterson, who has spent ten years with the Arizona Cardinals, was a teammate of Murray and now plays for the Minnesota Vikings, had recently expressed doubts about Murray staying in Arizona.
“I’ve been in K1’s immediate circle,” Peterson said on “CBS Sports.” “He’s a competitor. And I feel like – no disrespect to the Arizona Cardinals right now – but I feel like they’re not putting the team in a position to be successful year in and year out.”
Running back Chase Edmonds, who played for the Cardinals until last season and has now been traded to the Miami Dolphins, agrees with Peterson: “He wants to win. People may say a lot of things about K1, but he wants to win more than anything, I promise them. And if that doesn’t happen with winning, I don’t know what will. “
Kyler Murray refutes trade rumours
Murray promptly contradicted his ex-teammates’ view. And retweeted the clip in question with the clear caption, “I want to win Super Bowls with the Cardinals. Arizona is my home”.
General manager Steve Keim also vehemently denied the rumours of his quarterback’s departure. There is “zero chance” the Cardinals will trade Murray, the GM stressed. Murray himself commented on a related tweet with a “100” emoji, signalling his approval.
