The world’s best football league kicks off its new season at the beginning of September. The NFL’s plans are becoming more and more concrete – and are quite curious.

On Wednesday, September 9, the season kicks off at 8:20 pm US time with a game between Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. It is not yet clear who the champions will play.

However, it is now clear exactly when the first NFL game will be played on Australian soil just one day later. The San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams will meet in Melbourne.

Due to the time difference, this is definitely a special affair. In order for the game to be broadcast in the USA on Thursday evening, September 10, at 5:35 pm, the professionals Down Under have to get up early.

17 hours time difference means that the game at the Melbourne Cricket Ground has to take place on Friday morning, September 11, at 10:35 am.

Also a remarkable task in terms of organization, as the stadium can accommodate a good 100,000 people, who therefore have to be there in the morning.
