Josh Gordon is hoping for another chance in the NFL. Now he is said to have filed a motion to have his suspension lifted. His ex-team, the Seattle Seahawks, are said to be interested in a receiver comeback.
In late 2019, the NFL suspended Josh Gordon indefinitely for repeated use of illegal substances. Now the wide receiver has submitted a request to the league to lift the ban.
As Tom Pelissero of the “NFL Network” reports, Gordon sent a corresponding letter to the NFL on Wednesday. His lawyer Adam Kenner also explained the circumstances of the suspension last December: “Josh had a relapse because of the death of his brother. But since then he has understood how important it is for him to stay on the right track. He now has the right people around him and has understood how many chances he has been given. He’s looking forward to making the most of them.”
Seahawks supposedly open for comeback
In preparation for an NFL return, Gordon is keeping fit in Seattle. The now 29-year-old is currently a free agent after his suspension. However, the Seahawks are said to be interested in reenlisting Gordon if the NFL allows him to play.
The receiver joined the Seahawks from the New England Patriots last season, but he did not score a touchdown in five missions.
Gordon’s best season so far was in 2013 for the Cleveland Browns, with 1646 receiving yards and nine receiving touchdowns.
