Green Bay Packers run out of receivers: Big chance for EQ St. Brown?

The Thursday Night Game of the Green Bay Packers against the Arizona Cardinals could be the big moment for Equanimeous St. Brown. Because the Packers are running out of alternatives: After Davante Adams, Allen Lazard is also threatening to drop out.

Munich – In recent weeks, Equanimeous St. Brown has only been used sporadically on offensive snaps for the Green Bay Packers. That could change for the German-American wide receiver as early as Friday night in the Thursday Night Game. The Packers are currently threatened with the short-term loss of two star receivers for the game against the Arizona Cardinals.

After Davante Adams was placed on the Covid reserve list by the franchise on Monday, Allen Lazard followed him on Tuesday.

Two negative tests as condition of commitment

According to “ESPN” reports, Adams, who is expected to be fully vaccinated, tested positive for Covid-19. However, as a fully vaccinated player, there is a possibility that with two negative PCR tests at least 24 hours apart and symptom-free, he could still return to the squad in time for the game.

“I have spoken to him. He seems to be okay health-wise. But he’s obviously disappointed,” quarterback Aaron Rodgers said of Adams’ positive test.

With Lazard, it is not known if he himself was placed on the list because of a positive test or as a contact.

Adams and Lazard clearly the top receivers

Both caught a touchdown pass each last Sunday against the Washington football team. With 744 (Adams) and 184 (Lazard) receiving yards, they are the team’s top two wide receivers this season.

94 of quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ 136 season throws to a Packers wide receiver have been targeted by either Adams or Lazard.

EQ even more sought after after run for first down?

Now, then, both are in danger of dropping out – and EQ, who has just one reception so far this season, could become more important than ever as a potential face-off spot for Rodgers. Especially since Marquez Valdes-Scantling, another Packers receiver, has not yet been recalled from the Injured Reserve List to the active roster.

If all three receivers fall out, veteran Randall Cobb is likely to become Aaron Rodgers’ most important starting option against Arizona. Running back Aaron Jones is also a suitable pass receiver with 26 receptions so far. And then there’s St. Brown. He already caught attention on Sunday with a 13-yard run for a first down. Maybe there’s even more in it against the Cardinals.
